Destiny Lopez currently serves as the executive director of ACCESS/Women's Health Rights Coalition, which removes barriers to sexual and reproductive health care experienced by California women and girls. She joined ACCESS in January 2007 and is responsible for management, fundraising, administration and strategic visioning for the organization.
Prior to joining ACCESS, Destiny was an account director at Fenton Communications, the largest public interest communications strategy firm in the country. At Fenton, she managed branding, positioning, communications planning and media relations strategy for a range of clients, including the UCSF National Center of Excellence in Women's Health and Planned Parenthood Los Angeles.
Destiny has a decade of experience in advocacy, fundraising and strategic communications on a range of public interest issues including: reproductive health, rights and justice, after-school programming and civic participation. She has served as a communications and policy advocacy consultant to a number of reproductive justice organizations, including Choice USA and the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health (NLIRH) and currently sits on the board of directors of NLIRH, California Latinas for Reproductive Justice and Asian Communities for Reproductive Justice. She is also a member of the executive committees of both the California Coalition for Reproductive Freedom and Women LEAD for Health.
In October 2008, Destiny received the Outstanding Young Professional Award of the Population, Family Planning and Reproductive Health section of the American Public Health Association. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and a Master of Public Administration from New York University.
