Joseph Mendelson III

Joseph Mendelson III is the co-founder and legal director of the Center for Food Safety, operating out of the organization's Washington, D.C., office. Mr. Mendelson's practice focuses on food safety, sustainable agriculture, and environmental protection. He has most recently served as lead counsel in litigations against the FDA for its failure to fully test, review, and label GM foods, and against the EPA for its inadequate approval process of GM crops. Mr. Mendelson is a contributing author to Fatal Harvest: The Tragedy of Industrial Agriculture and a contributor to publications such as the Ecologist and the Utne Reader. He also regularly appears in print and television news media outlets. Mr. Mendelson is a graduate of the George Washington University School of Law.
